SERIES

Guard Duty
Guard Duty is a Halo-based machinima comedy series created by Syp. It centers on the security guards stationed on Outpost Black Out (and later Outpost Cold Storage) as they complain about their lives and end up getting roped into something they didn’t ask for. The first season aired in 2012, with a proof-of-concept pilot in 2011, while the second season has been ongoing since 2022. Guard Duty Sides are additional episodes that don’t fall into the main story, initially produced from 2012 to 2013 before being brought back in 2022 and airing since.
Season 1 and the first three episodes of Season 2 were produced using the Halo 3 engine on Xbox 360 before the series switched to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which includes Halo 3, on Xbox One starting with the fourth episode of Season 2.
All episodes have been written and directed by Syp. Revoltge has joined Syp as co-writer beginning with Dare, the Season 2 finale, after previously co-writing the first Sides episode, Annoyances.

WarGames
WarGames is a Halo-based machinima comedy series created by Syp, acting as a companion to Guard Duty. It centered on a group of robots built for the UNSC Cosmo’s simulated series of firefight matches being retrofitted for real military operations. The first series, retroactively referred to as Classic, aired in 2013, while its sequel Story Mode aired from 2022 until 2023.
The first four episodes were released as a series of loosely connected shorts with no major ties to Guard Duty, only being grouped together as WarGames and retroactively made canon during the development of Story Mode. Classic takes place before Season 1, while Story Mode occurs concurrently and after it.
Initially produced using the Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 engines on Xbox 360 for its first four episodes, subsequent episodes have utilized Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One, primarily using its version of Halo 3.
All episodes were written and directed by Syp, with Revoltge providing machinimating assistance in the series finale.

Major Malfunction
Major Malfunction is a Halo-based machinima comedy series created by Syp with Chron Aldazaar, MozzyWozzy, and LizDanceTV in 2012, with a logo designed by Corvaeraas. It centered on the security guards stationed on Outpost High Ground as they get ambushed by an unknown attacker and are forced to flee the base. While not intended to be canonical to Guard Duty when it was made, this series was retroactively made canon during the final two episodes of WarGames: Story Mode, which depicts the aftermath of Major Malfunction‘s unintentional cliffhanger ending. It takes place during Guard Duty: Season 1.
Produced using the Halo 3 engine on Xbox 360, this series is archived on Syp’s backup channel rather than her main one. Despite this, it is still canonical.
All episodes were directed and co-written by Syp, with Chron Aldazaar, MozzyWozzy, and LizDanceTV joining her as co-writers for every episode.
There is a second iteration of this series, dubbed The Firelight Series, that was directed by Edward James and written by LizDanceTV for its first two episodes before Syp returned to write and direct the final one. This version is not canonical to its predecessor and is thus a complete standalone work not documented here.
